1. Privacy Policy
Osiris Shroomtopia ("we," "us," "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights. We collect only what we need to operate the store, fulfill your orders, and stay compliant with Michigan law.
What We Collect
- Identity & Contact: name, email, phone number.
- Order Data: products selected, pickup date/time, order notes.
- Age Verification: a photo of your government-issued State ID, used only to confirm you are 21 or older.
- Subscription Preferences: the topics you opt in to (grand opening, products, blog, podcast, sales, events).
- Site Usage: basic, aggregated analytics (page views, device type) — never sold.
How We Use It
- To verify your age and fulfill your pickup order.
- To contact you about your order or in-store appointment.
- To send the updates you opted in to. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To improve the site, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations.
Who We Share It With
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the limited set of vendors that help us run the business — payment processor (Stripe at launch), form/email infrastructure (Netlify), and our own staff under confidentiality. All vendors are bound by data-protection agreements.
Your Choices
- Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your data.
- Withdraw consent or unsubscribe at any time.
- Lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority.

2. Data Security & Information Safety
We take the safety of the information you share with us seriously and apply controls proportionate to its sensitivity:
- Encryption in transit. Every page and form is served over HTTPS/TLS.
- Encryption at rest. Submissions and uploaded files are stored on encrypted infrastructure provided by Netlify.
- Least-privilege access. Only trained staff who need to verify orders can view ID submissions, and access is logged.
- Retention limits. We keep personal data only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, then delete it (see ID handling below).
- Spam & abuse protection. Honeypot fields and automated screening protect submission endpoints.
- Breach response. If a breach affecting your data occurs, we will notify affected users without undue delay and, where required, the appropriate authorities.
3. State ID Photo Handling
The photo of your State ID is collected for one purpose only: to verify that you are 21 or older, as required by Michigan law. It is never used for marketing, profiling, or sold to anyone.
Lifecycle
- Upload. Sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection directly to a private review queue.
- Review. A trained staff member visually confirms the date of birth and that the document is unexpired and authentic-looking.
- Approval. If approved, your order is released for pickup. If not, we contact you for a clearer image.
- Destruction. The image is deleted within 30 days of order completion or denial — sooner upon written request — unless retention is required by law (e.g. to defend against a regulatory audit).
You may at any time email privacy@osirisshroomtopia.com to request earlier deletion or to verify deletion has occurred.
5. Terms of Service
By using this site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please leave the site.
Eligibility
You must be 21 or older and a Michigan resident or visitor old enough to lawfully purchase the products described. Misrepresentation of age is a violation of these terms.
Orders & Pickup
All orders are placed as pickup requests. Final payment is collected in-store at pickup, after ID verification. We may refuse or cancel any order at our discretion, including where ID verification cannot be completed.
Acceptable Use
You may not attempt to disrupt the site, scrape ID data, submit false information, or use the site for unlawful resale or distribution.
Intellectual Property
All content, branding, photography, and the Osiris Shroomtopia name are owned by Osiris Shroomtopia or used under license. Educational excerpts may be quoted with credit.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Osiris Shroomtopia is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the site or the products. Our total aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid for the order in question.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflicts-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Washtenaw County, Michigan.
6. Age Verification & 21+ Compliance
This site is intended exclusively for adults aged 21 and older. We require an age-gate at site entry and a State ID review prior to any product fulfillment. We do not market to minors and do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 21. If you believe a minor has used the site, contact us immediately and we will delete any associated records.
7. Accessibility Statement (WCAG 2.1 AA)
Osiris Shroomtopia is committed to making this site usable by everyone, including people who are blind, have low vision, are deaf or hard of hearing, have motor or cognitive disabilities, or rely on assistive technology. We design and review against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.
What we do
- Keyboard navigation. Every interactive element — menus, cart, checkout, ID upload, forms — is reachable and operable with a keyboard alone.
- Screen-reader friendly. Semantic HTML, descriptive alt text on meaningful images, ARIA labels on icon-only buttons, and a skip-to-content link on every page.
- Visible focus. A high-contrast focus outline appears whenever a control is focused via keyboard.
- Color & contrast. Body text is checked against WCAG AA contrast ratios on our blue palette; we never rely on color alone to convey meaning.
- Reduced motion. Animations and smooth-scroll respect the
prefers-reduced-motionsetting and are disabled when the user's system requests it. - Resizable text. The layout reflows cleanly at 200% zoom and on small mobile screens.
- Form labels & errors. Every input has a programmatically-associated label, and validation messages are announced to assistive technology.
- Alt text. Product photos and the Osiris logo carry descriptive alt text so blind and low-vision shoppers can navigate the catalog by listening.
Known limitations
The site is in active development. Some emoji-based product placeholders are decorative and may be skipped by screen readers; PDF receipts (post-launch) will be tagged for accessibility. We welcome feedback on anything that does not work for you.

If any page or feature is difficult to use with your assistive technology, email access@osirisshroomtopia.com or call us during business hours. We will work with you to provide the information or service in an accessible way — including reading product details aloud, describing photos, or assisting with checkout in person. We aim to respond within two business days.
8. ADA & In-Store Accommodations
Our Ann Arbor location is designed to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Michigan Persons with Disabilities Civil Rights Act, including:
- Step-free entry and accessible aisles wide enough for wheelchairs and mobility aids.
- An accessible restroom and accessible checkout counter height.
- Service animals are welcome.
- Large-print product cards and lab results available on request.
- Staff trained to read product labels, lab tests, and educational material aloud for customers with vision impairments.
- Sign-language assistance available with at least 48 hours' notice.

9. Health, Safety & Disclaimers
The information on this site is for educational purposes only and is not medical, psychological, or legal advice. Statements about functional and entheogenic mushrooms have not been evaluated by the FDA. Products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
Do not consume our products if you are pregnant, nursing, taking SSRIs or MAOIs, have a personal or family history of psychosis or bipolar disorder, or are operating heavy machinery or driving. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before adding any new supplement to your routine.
10. California (CCPA) & Other State Rights
If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, or another U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have the right to:
- Know what categories of personal information we collect.
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of that information.
- Opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — we do not sell or share data, but we honor the request anyway.
- Be free from discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
